The canopy of a Westbury gas station collapsed Wednesday morning under the weight of heavy snow and ice, Nassau County police said.

In nearby Syosset, a house under construction suffered a partial roof collapse, The Associated Press reported. Nassau County police told AP that no one was living in the home.

At the Gulf station, an outer edge of the canopy covering pumps on the corner of Old Country Road and Post Avenue dropped to the ground at about 6:15 a.m., a police spokeswoman said.

There were no injuries and no fuel leaks, the spokeswoman said.
