A busy Glen Cove intersection would get stop signs and a street would obtain parking restrictions under proposals now before the city council.

A public hearing on the measures is scheduled for the next Glen Cove City Council meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The intersection of Dosoris Way and Oak Lane is "highly trafficked" and residents have complained about speeding, Deputy Mayor Barbara Peebles said. Glen Cove Hospital and Robert M. Finley Middle School are within two blocks of the intersection.

Residents on the two-block Pearl Street say nearby auto-repair shops park cars on their street for several days in some cases, Peebles said.

The proposed restriction would bar all parking from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the west side of Pearl Street, she said.
