Two Roosevelt siblings face drug charges in the seizure of 150 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $300,000, Glen Cove police said Tuesday.

At their arraignment at First District Court in Hempstead, Larry Doss, 55, and his brother, Ronny Windham, 52, pleaded not guilty to first-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Doss was ordered held on $25,000 bail or $10,000 bond. Windham was ordered held on $40,000 bail or $20,000 bond. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday in Nassau County Court, Mineola.

"They obviously maintain their innocence," said their Garden City attorney Geoffrey Prime. "And we look forward to seeing any evidence the district attorney's office has."

The two were arrested Monday after picking up six "suspicious" boxes containing marijuana from Mail Boxes Etc. at 5 Brewster St. in Glen Cove, police said.

Police began their investigation on Saturday, when two other "suspicious" boxes were reported, the news release said.

Glen Cove detectives called in Nassau County's canine unit and the investigation continued.

A first-degree possession charge applies when the amount of marijuana is more than 10 pounds, according to Det. Lt. John Nagle of the Glen Cove police.
