A Glen Cove man who was seriously injured in a crash earlier this month while riding his motorcycle has died from his injuries, Nassau County police said Monday.

According to detectives, the driver of a 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML 320 was traveling west on Brewster Street in Glen Cove around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 19. As she made a left turn, police said, she collided with Diofanto Reyna-Perez, 55, who was operating a 2018 Honda motorcycle eastbound on Brewster Street in the vicinity of Mill Hill Road.

Reyna-Perez suffered severe head and facial injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. On Monday, police said he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

The female driver remained on scene, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
