Cara Liebowitz, 18, created two websites about the disability community and culture - abilities 4u.com and mosaicwebzine.org - in part to share her thoughts about what it's like to live with cerebral palsy. She offers her writings, both funny and poignant, as a way to help parents of the newly diagnosed.

Her plans: Attending Kutztown University of Pennsylvania; becoming a special-education teacher.

In her words: "A lot of people think disabled people are inspirational just for waking up and getting out of bed and having a life. I don't want to be considered inspirational for who I am. I want to be considered inspirational for what I do."

View from the guidance office: "She is a gifted young woman and is proactive about CP. Rather than seeing herself as 'disabled,' she sees herself as 'abled' and ready to conquer the world," said Eileen Valdés.
