A 47-year-old Great Neck man faces assault charges after throwing an electric fan at a woman and holding her against her will, Nassau County police said.

According to Sixth Squad detectives, Curtis Lowery of 52 Udall Dr. was arguing with a woman on Wednesday night at about 6 p.m. when he threw the fan, hitting her in the back of the head and causing a contusion and laceration.

Police said Lowery also pushed the woman into some cabinets, injuring her back, hips and arm and then kept her against her will for about four hours.

On Saturday, the woman filed a report at the Sixth Precinct, and Lowery was arrested and charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
