A masked gunman robbed a gas station in Uniondale late Wednesday night, stealing cash before fleeing on foot on Brookside Avenue, police said.

Nassau County police said the armed robbery took place just after 11 p.m. at the Shamrock gas station on Nassau Road.

No one was injured.

Police said the gunman, wearing a long-sleeved brown shirt and a black mask, entered the station, flashed a black handgun -- and demanded cash.

The clerk complied. The gunman took the money, put it into a black backpack and fled.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
