Gunshots break Baldwin doughnut shop door
Nassau County police say they're looking for the gunman or gunmen who sprayed a Baldwin street with bullets early Saturday morning.
No one was hurt in the 1:40 a.m. incident, but one of the rounds struck and broke the glass door of a Dunkin' Donuts at 989 Atlantic Ave. Police also found 10 of the .40-caliber shell casings in the parking lot at Church Street and Milburn Avenue serving a coin-operated laundry.
Police detectives at the First Precinct in Baldwin are looking for a man in a T-shirt seen speeding away on Church toward Milburn soon after the gunfire.
The shop, which also serves Baskin-Robbins ice cream, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, according to the Dunkin' Donuts website.
A manager who answered the phone at the shop early Saturday evening said the door hasn't been fixed yet. He said he didn't know whether customers were in the shop at the time of the shooting.
