Harold Dickert, Plainview man struck by motorcycle last week, has died, police say

An 87-year-old Plainview man who was struck last Wednesday by a motorcyclist in Valley Stream has died from his injuries, the Nassau County Police Department said late Monday.
Harold Dickert, 87, was declared dead Monday evening at a hospital, authorities said.
Just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 33-year-old man was driving a 2023 Ducati motorcycle southbound on Rockaway Parkway at the intersection of West Jamaica Avenue when he struck Dickert as the man crossed the street, homicide detectives said.
Dickert was taken by a Nassau County Police ambulance to a nearby hospital in critical condition with head and leg injuries.
The operator of the motorcycle remained at scene and refused medical attention.
