The Village of Hempstead is hosting a collection drive for Hurricane Harvey victims on Tuesday, according to a news release.

The drive is in partnership with the Salvation Army, the release said.

Long Islanders can drop off nonperishable goods and new or gently used clothing at Village Hall, Kennedy Memorial Park or Brierley Park from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., the release said.

For more information, call 516-478-6436.

Here are some ways Long Islanders can help Harvey victims:

Give cash

Donate blood

Texas blood banks are searching for donations to help victims. Schedule a donation on Long Island at New York Blood Center, which has locations in Ronkonkoma, Lake Success, Massapequa, Melville, Port Jefferson Station and Rockville Centre. http://nybloodcenter.org/

Don’t forget the animals

Austin Pets Alive! in Texas, which said the process to take in animals lost or hurt in Harvey is expected to cost more than $20,000, is accepting financial donations, volunteers and pet supplies. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/
