A Hempstead man was arraigned Friday on second-degree murder after being found in North Carolina and brought back to Long Island, where he shot a man in September, Nassau police said.

Michael Gibson, 31, of Martin Luther King Drive, is being held in Nassau jail without bail in the death of Joseph Bolling, 23, of Hempstead.

Gibson was arrested Sunday and escorted back here by New York State parole officers, police said. He was also be charged with violating parole, police said.

On Sept. 3, Hempstead police were called about 3 a.m. to Seduccion Gentlemen's Club on Main Street for a fight. At a street corner about 200 feet away, they found a wounded Bolling, who had been in the strip club.

Bolling was pronounced dead at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola about 20 minutes later.

The slaying came three years to the day after Bolling was arrested upstate in the killing of Samuel "Sammy" Brown, who was shot in the chest at a backyard barbecue in Uniondale on Aug. 10, 2008. Bolling was later acquitted.
