Hempstead man charged with attempted murder

A Hempstead man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a nonfatal shooting on Margret Court in Hempstead on Aug. 31, police said.
Corey Crisp, 34 of 50 Webb Ave., was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.
Detectives said a Hempstead police officer recognized Crisp and arrested him without incident.
They said the suspect had a loaded silver handgun; its serial number had been removed. Crisp was arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said the shooting victim was male. They would not provide further details.
