Motorcyclist seriously injured in Hempstead Village crash, police say

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash in Hempstead Village on Saturday, police said.
The crash occurred at Smith Street and Franklin Avenue, village police said. It was reported at 12:01 p.m.
Photos from the scene show a black Dodge Ram pickup truck with side damage and its air bag deployed, as well as a red Suzuki motorcycle near clothing and a helmet on the street.
The male motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, police said. It was not immediately clear whether the driver of the pickup truck was injured.
Police are investigating the crash.
