Two Hempstead teens were arrested Monday and charged with assault in an attack on a 20-year-old man last month near Uniondale High School, Nassau County police said.

Arrested were Apolinario Hernandez-Palacios, 18, of 84 Laurel Ave., and Mario Morales, 17, of 380 Front St. Both were charged with third-degree assault. Morales also was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, police said.

Police said Hernandez-Palacios, Morales and a third suspect who is still being sought confronted the victim on Goodrich Street near Uniondale High School on March 15 and repeatedly kicked and punched him, injuring his left eye.

It was not immediately clear how -- or if -- the suspects knew the victim in the attack.

Hernandez-Palacios and Morales are both scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
