Hempstead Tpke. reopens after accident

An overturned vehicle closed part of Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow on Friday, police said.
Nassau County police said the call reporting the accident came in at 11:02 a.m. Police said several people were injured and ambulances had been dispatched.
The crash occurred near the intersection with Newbridge Road.
Police reopened the road at 12:40 p.m.
Officials did not immediately have more details on the accident.
