Nassau County police are investigating a crash Thursday evening in Hicksville that left a woman in critical condition.
A woman, 30, was attempting to cross South Broadway from west to east at 7:15 p.m. when she was hit by a northbound 2007 Toyota Sienna minivan, police said in a news release Friday.
The minivan’s driver, 52, remained at the scene, police said, and her vehicle was brake and safety-tested, police said.
The woman who was hit suffered serious head injuries, a fractured back and a collapsed lung, police said. She was taken to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition, according to police.
The crash temporarily shut down portions of South Broadway near Boehme Street, police said Thursday night as investigators gathered evidence.
Police said the investigation is continuing.
