A late-night fire damaged a laundromat located in a storefront row along Hillside Avenue in Williston Park Wednesday, Nassau County fire officials said.

The fire, at 352 Hillside Ave., was reported in a 911 call at 11:39 p.m. Firefighters from Garden City Park, Williston Park and Mineola responded to the scene, officials said. Nassau County Assistant Chief Fire Marshal Michael F. Uttaro said they were able to bring the fire under control in under 30 minutes.

Uttaro said there were no reported injuries and that all significant damage was contained to the laundromat due to the quick response and actions of the responding firefighters. He said an investigation into the cause revealed it was accidental and caused by a buildup of lint in the laundromat dryers.

The laundromat is located near the Williston Park-Garden City Park border.
