Nassau County police are hoping for clues in the death of a man who was fatally shot just before midnight Sunday on Smith Street in Freeport.
Police said Alberto Tiburcio, 25, died at South Nassau Communities Hospital after someone shot him once in the abdomen at 11:56 p.m. The circumstances leading to the shooting were not immediately clear.
Police are asking anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS or the Homicide Squad at 516-573-7788. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
