A 61-year-old woman died in a house fire in Levittown on Saturday, Nassau County police said.

The blaze happened at a home on Forester Lane near Collector Lane at 11:15 a.m., police said.

Police said in a statement that officers who arrived on the scene saw heavy black smoke "fully engulfing the home." The Levittown Fire Department was able to get inside, where they found the unconscious woman.

She was declared deceased at the scene by a Nassau County medic, police said. Her name has not been released.

Police said the blaze did not appear to be suspicious.

No one else was inside the home at the time of the fire, said Michael Uttaro, Nassau County assistant chief fire marshal. Four people who live in the home were displaced.

The fire was under control in 30 minutes, Uttaro said. Along with Levittown, fire departments from Bethpage, East Meadow and Wantagh also assisted.
