A fire at a Massapequa home on Friday night caused the residence to suffer “extensive damage,” Nassau police said.

The Nassau County Police Department said the fire on Maple Lane, near Carmans Road, occurred around 8 p.m. Officers found the home’s attached garage fully engulfed in flames.

All of the home’s residents were safely evacuated, police said in a news release. It was unclear whether the home was inhabitable. No injuries were reported.

The Massapequa Fire Department and the South Farmingdale Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, police said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, but Nassau police said it was not believed to be suspicious at this time.
