Fire and police officials are battling a fire in Seaford that started in a waterfront house and spread to a boat moored outside, police said.
Nassau police said they were dispatched at 9:22 p.m. to a home on South Street that had gone up in flames. A police spokesman said the fire then spread to a boat moored behind the house, and the boat eventually broke free from its mooring and floated down the canal.
Fire officials were still working to battle the blaze around 10:30 p.m., police said.
