Police release sketch of suspect in attempted rape in Westbury

Nassau County police's Special Victims Squad and Crime Stoppers on Tuesday released a sketch of a suspect in an attempted rape last week in Westbury.
Police are looking for a man in his late 40s to mid 50s, about 6-foot-1, who at the time of the attack was wearing a dark hooded sweat jacket, jeans and tan boots.
The suspect knocked down a woman, 22, from behind at about 12:40 a.m. on Oct. 22 and attempted to sexually assault her, police said.
The woman was walking home from the Long Island Rail Road station north on Post Avenue when she was attacked from behind and fell to the ground, according to police.
The suspect was frightened off by a bystander, police said, and ran east on Maple Avenue.
The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries
