A traffic stop led to the arrest of two men Thursday in Inwood -- one charged with drug possession, the other with possession of a weapon.

Nassau County police said two Bureau of Special Operations officers conducted the stop of the 2011 Nissan Altima on Wanser Avenue at 3:52 p.m. During that stop, police said a bag of marijuana was found, as well as a loaded .38-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun.

The driver, identified by police as Joshua Lindsay, 25, of 79 Whitehouse Rd., Roosevelt, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, as well as multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. He was given a desk appearance ticket returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on Dec. 4, police said.

The passenger, identified as Marcell Haynes, 19, of 49 Clinton Avenue, Inwood, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

At arraignment Friday in Hempstead, District Court Judge Joy Watson ordered Haynes held on $50,000 bond or $25,000 cash bail.
