Island Park home burglarized while occupant slept

Cash and a watch were stolen from an 82-year-old Island Park man Saturday night while he slept, Nassau County police said.

Detectives said the victim's Lancaster Place home was burglarized sometime between 11:30 p.m. Saturday night and 7:30 a.m. Sunday, when the man woke to find his first-floor bedroom had been ransacked. His medicine cabinet had also been searched.

Detectives asked anyone with information on the crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
