A 58-year-old Westbury man was identified by Nassau police Tuesday as the pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday in the parking lot of an Island Park cement-mixing company.

The victim, Ovidio Castro, was struck about 6:26 a.m. outside Nicolia Ready Mix at 3896 Long Beach Road, where he worked, according to police. A Nassau County police ambulance took him to a hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead at 7:36 a.m., officials said.

No other information was immediately released Tuesday night, including the type of vehicle that hit Castro and the driver's identity.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
