A Commack woman was arrested Tuesday, charged with second-degree burglary, after her DNA was traced to blood found at a July break-in scene in Hewlett, Nassau County police said.

Jamie Culoso, 26, of 18 Valmont Lane, Commack, was arrested Tuesday in Woodmere, police said. She faces arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said that Culoso broke into a home on Franklin Avenue in Hewlett at about 9:30 a.m. on July 28, breaking glass on a rear kitchen door to gain entry to the house. Inside, she stole cash and jewelry before fleeing, police said.

During the break-in, police said, Culoso "cut herself on the glass," leaving "traces of blood throughout the home."

A DNA test later tied that blood to Culoso, police said.
