A building fire that forced the closure of Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park Tuesday morning has been extinguished and the road reopened, police and fire officials said.

The fire was in a line of storefronts near the intersection of Hillside Boulevard, Nassau County fire officials said.

Listings show the building houses a restaurant called Five Star Indian Cuisine.

Firefighters from New Hyde Park, Bellerose Terrace and Floral Park battled the blaze.

It was not immediately clear if the buildings were occupied.
