Jericho Turnpike in Mineola reopens after crash
A car accident closed Jericho Turnpike in Mineola for nearly two hours, Nassau County police said.
The crash occurred at about 8:15 a.m., police said, closing the road between Barwick Boulevard and Jay Court due to a downed utility pole and wires.
The road was reopened just before 10 a.m.
Details of the accident were not immediately available.
But police said the accident was caused when a car backed into the pole, knocking it over and into the roadway.
