A traffic stop in Levittown on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a fugitive wanted for extradition to Puerto Rico, New York State Police said.

Police said Jesus Delgado Quiles, 47, of Raleigh, North Carolina, was stopped for a traffic infraction near the intersection of Wantagh Avenue and Rope Lane at about 12:15 p.m. He was found to have a suspended license and registration -- and an outstanding warrant on a drug arrest parole violation.

Details of that violation were not immediately available.

Quiles was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, as well as ticketed for a suspended registration.

He was held, pending extradition, State Police said.
