Jets fans won't have to wait long to wear their team's accomplishment - should all go as planned tonight.

Select Modell's Sporting Goods and Sports Authority stores on Long Island will re-open immediately following the game if the Jets secure its first Super Bowl berth in 42 years.

Modell's locations in East Meadow, Lake Success, Commack, Bay Shore, Centereach, Massapequa, Freeport, Farmingdale and Sayville will then remain open as long as business dictates, and re-open at 6 a.m. Monday. Sports Authority stores in Westbury, Sayville, Commack, Massapequa, Riverhead and Lake Grove will re-open at 7 a.m.

Merchandise that will be available right away, in case of a Jets victory, includes the official "locker room" AFC Champions T-shirt (in men's and women's sizes), as well as shot glasses. Additional items. including hats, would arrive in time for Monday's opening, employees of both chains said.

At the Modell's in Farmingdale, manager Dave Weinstein said he's fielded some inquiries about the store's hours tonight, but did not attempt to estimate the late-night crowd potential.

"I know that when the stores re-opened after the Yankees won (the 2009 World Series), it was very busy," Weinstein said.

Regardless of the final score tonight, both chains will close as planned at 8 p.m. If the Jets lose, normal hours would be in place for Monday, with a 9 a.m. opening.
