A jogger was injured when he was struck by a 2007 Subaru while crossing Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook on Friday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

The 31-year-old victim was crossing the highway northbound on Peninsula Avenue at 12:43 p.m. when he was struck by the Subaru traveling westbound. The driver, a 55-year-old woman, stayed at the scene, police said. Neither party's name was released by police.

The victim was taken to a hospital, though a police spokeswoman did not know which one, with serious injuries. An investigation has determined there was no criminality involved.
