John Hardy, charged with making terroristic threat against Nassau police precinct, remanded without bail
A Staten Island man arrested on a charge of making a terroristic threat after police said he claimed he left a bag of dynamite in a Nassau County police precinct was remanded without bail Sunday.
John Hardy, 52, is due back in First District Court in Hempstead Wednesday after Nassau County Court Judge Rhonda Fischer ordered him held at his arraignment, according to online court records.
Hardy is accused of calling Nassau's Third Precinct on Wednesday afternoon, claiming he was a terrorist and planned to bomb the Williston Park building, according to police.
He called again a short time later and said he had left a bag of dynamite in the entranceway, police said.
Nassau police searched the building, but didn't find explosives.
Detectives located Hardy three days later.
Hardy, of 117 Water St., also faces an aggravated harassment charge.
