Lake Success trustees change rule on work site fencing
Fences enclosing construction sites in the Village of Lake Success will be subject to additional regulation.
The village board of trustees voted 7-0 last week to adopt new legislation about fences and walls. Only residents with either a demolition or building permit may construct a fence around a construction site. If work does not begin within 30 days of the permit's issuance, the fence must be removed.
Village officials said the new law will also apply to residents with existing demolition or building permits who have yet to begin work on their construction sites.
The local law has been filed with the secretary of state, a village official confirmed.
