An early morning fire caused extensive damage to a Lakeview church, but Nassau County police and fire officials said no one was injured.

The cause of the fire that raged through The Church of God in Christ Jesus of the Apostles' Faith Inc. on Jefferson Avenue at about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday remains under investigation.

Firefighters from West Hempstead, Franklin Square, Rockville Centre, Lakeview, Lynbrook and Malverne battled the blaze. The fire was under control within about a half-hour, fire officials said.
