The right travel lane on the westbound Loop Parkway Drawbridge in Nassau County will be closed for four days, New York State Department of Transportation officials said Wednesday.

Motorists may use the remaining westbound lane; the two eastbound lanes are unaffected by the closing. The lane was closed to accommodate maintenance repairs that officials said are being made to the 75-year-old drawbridge. The bridge will remain in operation during the repairs.

Motorists are being alerted of the change through electronic signs posted along the roads.

Officials recommend that the Long Beach Road or Atlantic Beach bridges as alternatives.
