Two men robbed a smoke shop on Rockaway Turnpike in Lawrence on Wednesday, police said.
It was not clear how much money was stolen from the shop, called Tobacco Road.
Nassau County police said one of the robbers carried a silver handgun, the other a black handgun. No one was seriously injured in the robbery.
Police said the armed robbery took place at 11 p.m.
They said detectives are searching for the men.
One of the robbers was described as 5-foot-9 with a stocky build. He wore a tan Yankees hat, a long-sleeved blue shirt, long blue shorts, sneakers and a red bandanna and had a black handgun.
The other robber was about 5-foot-10 and thin with a light-colored, long-sleeved shirt, jean shorts, a red bandanna covering his face and a black do-rag. He also had what police called "a large-size medallion" around his neck. He carried a silver handgun.
Police said the robber with the black handgun struck one employee in the face with that gun. Both robbers fled on foot, police said.
