Fire wiped out a men's clothing store in Levittown Monday night, the Levittown Fire Department's chief said.
One firefighter was treated at Nassau University Medical Center for a shoulder injury. More than 150 firefighters fought the blaze at the Men's Designer Fashion Outlet, which is in a building at 3026 Hempstead Tpke.
The fire was reported at 5:17 p.m., after the store had closed, Chief Donald Epple of the Levittown Fire Department said.
"Flames were blowing out front windows of the store," Epple said. The fire was out at 7:30 p.m.
"It was just a big store," Epple said. "It took a while."
He described the damage as a "total loss."
The fire's cause was under investigation Monday night.
