A fire tore through a Levittown house Friday night, damaging a neighbor's home and leaving one resident displaced, according Nassau County Assistant Chief Fire Marshal James Hickman.
Roughly 40 firefighters from Wantagh Fire Department responded to the blaze, which started shortly before midnight at a home on Chase Lane, Hickman said in a press release Saturday morning. The fire was put out within about 20 minutes, he said.
No one was injured, but one adult was displaced, Hickman said. A house next door was also damaged by "radiant heat."
Neither Nassau County fire officials nor the Wantagh Fire Department immediately responded to requests for comment on the fire, what caused it or how extensively it damaged the affected houses.
The fire is being investigated by the Nassau County Fire Marshal and arson bomb squad, the release stated.
