Levittown man faces child pornography charges

A Levittown man was arrested on child pornography charges Monday after police found on his computer several photos of young girls committing sexual acts, Nassau County police said.
Police said Charles Powers, 54, of 30 Tower Lane, uploaded pictures of girls between the ages of 5 and 8 to his computer from November through January.
The photos were taken from a live Internet chat website that promoted child pornography and showed sexual acts with an adult man, detectives said.
Police said they arrested Powers at his home Monday on five counts of promoting a sexual performance of a child and five counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child.
He is set to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
