A Levittown woman was arraigned Sunday after being charged in the theft of jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash from a home on Wantagh Avenue Saturday night.

Jennifer L. Fontana, 25, of 96 N. Wantagh Ave., was arrested at her home and the jewelry was recovered, Nassau County police said.

The theft occurred shortly before 7 p.m. The victim returned to the Levittown home and discovered someone had entered the house through a rear window, according to detectives. An investigation led to Fontana's arrest, detectives said.

Fontana was charged with second-degree burglary and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead. She was being held in the Nassau County jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash bail.
