Levittown woman rescued from fire dies

A Levittown woman rescued from her burning home by two volunteer firefighters and a neighbor died of her injuries Tuesday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The woman, whose identity has not been released, died shortly after 11 a.m. at Nassau University Medical Center, spokeswoman Shelley Lotenberg said.
Two firefighters -- Chris Tuohy and Lionel Roseval -- rescued the woman from the burning home Monday, along with neighbor Michael Senay, after the firefighters went directly to the scene from their homes and arrived before the fire engines.
Senay, 54, said a woman had come running to his house seeking help in getting her roommate out of the upstairs living area. The door was locked and the house was on fire.
Senay banged on the door of the living area and eventually broke through the door. The smoke kept him from getting to the unconscious woman on the burning bed.
He said he ran outside for air just as a volunteer firefighter arrived and they both went in for the woman. They dragged her out and, with the aid of another arriving firefighter and neighbors, got her out.
