LI may see wind gusts up to 40 mph
Wind gusts of up to 40 mph are possible on parts of Long Island Friday, potentially causing downed trees and limbs and scattered power outages, forecasters said.
The winds are caused by a cold front that passed through Thursday evening, the National Weather Service said in a special weather statement.
The gusts may reach 40 mph, "especially near the coasts and higher elevation areas," the service said.
