Part of the Long Island Expressway will be shut down in Oyster Bay Town for roughly two weeks starting Monday, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

The shutdown will be on the LIE’s westbound lanes between Exits 48 and 44 on weekdays from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. That part of the LIE extends from Round Swamp Road to the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway. The roadway’s HOV lane may also be shut down after 9 p.m.

The DOT said the closure would begin on June 15 and continue for "approximately two weeks to facilitate an asphalt pavement renewal project." That schedule could change if weather interferes with the work being done, the agency added in a Friday announcement.

There will be a traffic detour at Exit 48, which will take drivers back onto the LIE via the North Service Road.

The DOT also wrote that "passenger vehicles may use the Northern State Parkway as an alternate route."
