Eastbound LIE in North Hills reopens after crash, police say

A crash involving two tractor trailers and other vehicles caused closures on the Long Island Expressway at Exit 35 Shelter Rock Road on Wednesday, Nassau police said. Credit: Jim Staubitser
All lanes of the Long Island Expressway at Exit 35 Shelter Rock Road reopened Wednesday afternoon following an accident during the morning rush, Nassau County police said.
The accident in North Hills shortly after 9 a.m. involved two tractor trailers and “multiple cars,” police said.
The accident also involved one injury, Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said at a morning news conference in Hicksville. Details of the injury were not available.
State officials said the road was fully reopened by 1:41 p.m.
