LIE east remains closed at Exit 34 after mobile home mishap

The eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway have been closed at exit 34 in North Hills since about 9 p.m. Wednesday because of an investigation into an auto accident, Nassau police said.

Police said a mobile home being transported on the LIE fell off its trailer and onto the roadway.

A police spokeswoman said the road was still closed as of 11:25 p.m. and would remain closed for several more hours.
