All westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway near the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway have reopened after an accident, officials said.

A Nassau County police spokesman said the multivehicle accident involved injuries and that it happened at 11:25 a.m. but he had no other details immediately available on the crash.

All lanes of the westbound expressway near Exits 43 and 44 had been closed for about a half-hour, according to the state Department of Transportation website informny.com.

The right westbound lane reopened by about 1:45 p.m., the DOT said.
