LIE lanes reopen in Plainview after collision, officials say

Two lanes of the westbound Long Island Expressway in Plainview were closed for almost four hours during the Tuesday morning rush hour because of an accident involving two tractor trailers, officials said.
Photographs from the scene also showed a Nassau County police vehicle against one of the trucks. Police confirmed that the police vehicle made contact with one of the trucks.
A police spokesman said the driver of one of the trucks was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
The accident occurred at 5:05 a.m. near Exit 48, according to police, and was resolved at 8:54 a.m., the state Department of Transportation website.
