The eastbound Long Island Expressway reopened late Thursday night after it was shut down by a tractor trailer fire, Nassau police said.

The vehicle caught on fire at Exit 35, police said, and it appears the problem was caused by a refrigeration unit in the truck.

No one was injured, police said.

The eastbound lanes were shut down just before 9 p.m. and police announced just after 11 p.m. that they had reopened.
