Long Island Expressway travel lanes in Nassau County will be closed early Sunday for routine bridge inspections, according to the state Department of Transportation.

From 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., both the eastbound and westbound lanes from Exit 40, Route 25 / Jericho Turnpike, to Exit 43, South Oyster Bay Road, may be closed, along with the ramp to the westbound LIE from northbound Route 106 / 107, the department said in a news release.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes or they may experience travel delays.

The off-peak travel lane closures are needed to perform a routine bridge inspection of the Route 107 bridge over the LIE, the department said.

For real-time travel information motorists should call 511 or visit 511NY.org, New York State's official traffic and travel information source. Motorists may also obtain travel information from the INFORM Transportation Management Center cameras at informny.com and on their handheld communication devices at informny.mobi.
