A Lindenhurst man was killed Wednesday morning at the U.S. Post Office repair shop in Hicksville when he was run over by a truck while he was underneath it making repairs, Nassau County police said.

The victim was identified as David M. Zimmerly, 56, a U.S. Postal Service employee. He was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said another employee, Jacob Kuri Jr., 54, of Sayville, who was unaware Zimmerly was under the truck, entered it and moved it, running Zimmerly over and causing fatal injuries. Authorities said no charges were filed.

According to detectives from the Nassau County Police Homicide Squad, the accident took place at 9:23 a.m. at the repair shop, 109 Ludy St.
